I've always said it like "Sue-doe or Sue-doh" but I heard someone else say it today like "Sue-due or Sue-do"?

What is the correct way?

I'm with you on this one: I think "sue doh" even though sudo stands for "super user do"

sue-doh <whatever>

I find myself saying both. While sue-doh is probably more common for me because of the way it looks on the page, sue-doo I think is probably the more correct pronunciation based on the whole Super-User-DO thing.

It also makes me think of that song by Phil Collins... Sussudio.

i'm gonna start pronouncing it like seeoo (like "see you" only one syllable with the ee part a quick glide) -do (short, as in 'dot').

She types, "pseudo if.." gah!

Sue-doh, as in pseudo-root.

That's how I always thought of it anyways.

Sue-doh, as in pseudo-root.

I had never thought about the origin, but for the pseudo-faction (sorry, but I had to incorporate that pun) pronouncing sudo as /'suːdoʊ/ (sue dough), that is a good psuedo-explanation (sorry).

I pronounce it /'suːdoʊ/.

Apparently, the first and most correct pronunciation (according to Wikipedia, the most inaccurate encyclopedia more accurate than Britannica) is /ˈsuːduː/ (sue due).

soo-doo is probably correct, but I prefer soo-DOH. Homer Simpson would most likely agree with me :D

I just say sue-doh. I don't really care if it's correct or not.

Actually, it stands for Switch User Do. It comes from the old unix days when you were "switching" to an administrative account. :)
