Have you heard of a game called Crayon Physics, or the flash implementation, Magic Pen (try it):
http://www.bubblebox.com/swf6/1285/magic-pen-2.swf

I think it's an absolutely awesome game, and I'm looking to create an open source 'clone' with some serious improvements. As always, I'm not a programmer, so I'm looking for somebody who is - probably going to do it in python with pygame. I can certainly manage a project though (and take care of graphics, etc) - my last game project:
http://slingshot.wikispot.org
And if you're using 9.04:

sudo apt-get install slingshot

So, I'm looking for a competent programmer who is passionate about creating a game like this.

Cheers

oh i really like slingshot since it's very similar to warheads and the gravity is well programmed.

it just needs a few more elements to add a little randomness to it to make it less predictable (for example make planets move a little every turn so shoots dont always follow the same trayectory as in the last turn. Also being able to move the spacecraft would add more strategy or some physics elements and see how that goes since you are onto the whole physics thing)

Also about the physics , why not team up with these devs:

http://www.getdeb.net/app/Numpty+Physics (crayon type clone)
http://numptyphysics.garage.maemo.org/

http://www.getdeb.net/app/JAMP (original and fun physics game)
http://perre.noud.ch/jamp/

they are more than willing to team up with other devs or you can use part of those sources to create what you have in mind

Interesting. Have you tried the flash version of Portal (http://portal.wecreatestuff.com/)? It is freaking cool.
