Sorry if I am in the wrong forum for this one, but I have been trying to figure out what I am doing wrong here. Also, I am a bit new to Linux environments. Anyways, I am trying to install Tor on Jaunty and have used several of the manuals on how to do so via sudo get-apt as well as trying the deb package. As far as I know I have done everything right including editing the source.list file and adding the IP in the Privox config file. Vidalia starts Tor up fine but when I check the IP, it still displays my home one, thus nothing changing. Could someone point me in the right direction as to why this may be happening? Will post any info as requested if needed.

PS: Is there a way I can start tor manually instead of having it boot up with every start-up? I get errors trying to use Vidalia that way.
