In xubuntu 9.04, when the panel is in vertical position, in workspace switcher properties changing the number of columns doesn't have effect (visually number of columns always stays as if the set number was 2). Does anyone else has the same, can it be fixed?

interesting, what happens if you make it horizontal, change it and put it back?

The same, doesn't have effect, but:

i just noticed that this is only the problem with Panel 1 (which is where system icons appear such as network indicator, update manager etc), Panel 2 adjusts the position of windows in workspace switcher correctly according to the assigned number, either vertically or horizontally.

i'm not having much luck today am i:D

solved:popcorn:

wiped xubuntu and installed debian+xfce, now everything is working as it should:biggrin:

:) seriusly i'm sure something less drastic would've helped too, i just wanted to try something different and it was a good opportunity
