Hello, I've been using Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop for a few months now and absolutely love it! I recently got a 160 GB desktop computer that I don't really need, so I was toying with the idea of making it into a server to host my blog, and maybe a few other things. Now, I'm a total newb when it comes to servers, so if you think this is way over my head, please let me know!
I have the 8.10 server edition CD and I'm working on a BIOS upgrade for the machine (it's got Windows 1998 right now), and then I'll be set to start. Does anyone have tips or a link to a good walkthrough? I've booted up the CD before and it's a bit overwhelming having to pick what sorts of things to install (all those options I don't recognize!).
