I have ubuntu 9.04. I would like to save space. I would like to have only one panel. How can I do that? Of course I do not just want to delete the bottom panel. I want to have everything I currently have on my bottom panel included on the top panel or vice versa. I would like to stay with gnome and ubuntu. I thought of switching to KDE but I got used to ubuntu now and do not want to switch again.

Maybe I really had to find the answer to this by myself. All that was necessary is right-clicking the top panel and add the stuff that is on the bottom panel and remove the bottom panel and that was it.

if you want all the menus compacted choose "main menu" from the add to panel.
