Hi all,
My question is simple (and maybe stupid): is it possible to install KDE apps (like kile) on ubuntu 9.04 without installing all the KDE desktop enviroment?

On sabayon, for example, is possible to install only the main KDE libraries.

Yes, just install the package you want, and it will install only the packages on which your program depends. I run kile on ubuntu all the time.

Yes you may, the dependencies will also be pulled off so while it may not be a massive problem for something like Kile if you wanted to install say Dolphin it will pull a lot of deps

But among the dependencies there are also konqueror and kde-base... are you sure that the installation of theese packages doesn't cause the whole installation of KDE?
