This is ubuntu 8.10. I have a hardware usb fax modem (it is not a winmodem, and it worked plug and play in 2 other distros) that ubuntu does not have the driver for. I need to have cdc_acm, but I cannot a source for it. If anyone can advise on a location for it, and better still, instructions on what to do with it, I would be eternally grateful and would wash your car, walk your dog, cut your lawn or whatever else in return! It is the only non-working element of ubuntu for me.
