I get a blank screen at startup after upgrading to 8.10 from a working version of 8.04. My video card is a radeon 4800 series; 8.04 does not recognize the proprietary driver from ati, but the driver showed up and was available for download after the intrepid installation (prior to the restart); however, the download does not start right after i install the upgrade. So I restart and cross my fingers. Once I restart, I get the ubuntu load screen with the orange bar...then the screen goes blank--not even a logon screen. Any advice on how to get the video card working?
