How do I upgrade 8.10 to 9.04 ?

Probably a silly question, but nothing is revealed in a search.

You should be able to just go to System > Administration > Update Manager

Back up your data before upgrading. There are no 100% guarantees that all will go well.

Hey, it's better to ask when unsure then to go around looking for it and mess something up by accident.

I've done a bit of 'touring' in the last few months and have just returned to Ubuntu. Installed a 64 bit base from an .iso cd so really didn't have anything to 'destroy'. All went perfectly with the upgrade and am now ready to move forward to establish an environment.

A backup will indeed be important next time. I have a couple of external drives - but what is a good approach ?
