Is there a way to patch nautilus or the wallpaper plugin in such a way that I can use the wallpaper plugin, but also retain my nautilus desktop background?
I came across this patch, but its a little outdated (from 2007):

Do you think this will work with Ubuntu 9.04? I would try it, but I'm not sure how to revert back to normal if it doesn't work.
