So for graduation I won a Lenovo laptop via scholarship. For the first couple weeks I've been lazy and kept the preloaded Windows XP on there. Just today when I found a bit of free time I decided I needed to wipe out my HD and dual-boot, so I go to install windows, and when I boot from the Windows XP cd I get a blue screen after all of the drivers have been loaded. So I decided to try to boot live from an old Ubuntu 7.10 disk I had but it froze while loading the rc.local scripts. So then I thought it might be the proprietary Lenovo support partition that was causing the problem so I wiped out my entire HD (Killdisk). I tried to do the windows cd after and got a blue screen again, and then I tried to install Ubuntu from a 9.04 CD but after the status bar loads my computer just freezes on a black screen. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing the issue.
