Architecture 32-bit

Hardware summary:
CPU 1 x Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz (2793 MHz)
Motherboard D865GBF ()
System memory 2048 MB (1024, 1024)
Videoadapter Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller (96 MB)
Hard disk drives ST3250310AS (250 GB)
ST340014A (40 GB)
my machine configuration is what i have stated above.

i wish to install ubuntu on another hard disk that is 40 GB and run windows from 250 GB hard disk.

how can i install ubuntu 9.04 on my desktop please help!!!!!!!!!!

hi
insert the live-cd of ubuntu before you're going to boot from the cd-drive...
everything will be crystalclear from then on :)

I did so but i was unable to install it.
i went through all the process and while selecting disk i have chosen my whole 40 gb hard drive but still i was unable to do so.

please help!!!!!!!!!!

is your PC set to boot from the DVD/CD-ROM before your HDD in the Bios?
