I'm trying to install JJ 32 bit on my desktop and I'm having problems.

When I run the live environment, I can get to the desktop and it loads fine and then if i try to do anything i get video corruption and the computer locks up.

When I run install from the boot menu it loads and the shows a white screen with a box in the upper left corner with corrupted graphics and locks up.

I have tried it installing from a usb stick and a cd. same results with both. I checked the iso md5 and it checked out. I have no idea what is going wrong and any help would be greatly appreciated.

My rig:
AMD DC Opteron 170
Nvidia 7800gt
2gb OCZ ram
DFI expert lanparty mobo

Did you try Check CD for defects when you boot it? Did you burn the CD at the slowest possible speed? If you did this then look here:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions

scroll down to the part describing F4 when you boot the Live CD. You may need to use safe graphics mode to install.

If nothing on that link will work try the alternate text based installer. You can get it here : http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/downloadmirrors#alternate
