View Full Version : [ubuntu] CD drive issues

I have a thinkpad t23. It's old, but runs well. The only problem is the CD drive doesn't seem to be working. Even at initial boot. When I put disks in, it spins the CD and tries to read it, so I'm guessing it isn't a hardware problem. I also check the BIOS and it has the CD drive listed as devices.

Any ideas of what I can do to solve this problem?

First try a drive lens cleaner.
If that doesn't work, replace the drive.

Ah I figured that'd be the case....
