I have been trying to run iTunes on my laptop for awhile now. I run Jaunty on a Toshiba Satellite.

It works fine, but the screen turns black. The website I was on told me to start up Quicktime and change some settings to make that go away.

I tried to open quicktime but got this message:

The program QuickTimePlayer.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check http://appdb.winehq.org for tips about running this application.
If this problem is not presentunder Windows and has not been reported yet, you can report it at http://bugs.winehq.org.

I have no idea what to do. All I want is for my screen to start turning black. Can anyone help?

Does it have to be iTunes? There are plenty of alternative apps in ubuntu that allow you to do almost everything that iTunes does, and quicktime movies or audio can be played with ubuntu apps as well.

I have songbird as well, which is perfectly adequate. I just miss my iTunes, not to mention that's where I buy a lot of my music. It's just useful to have. If Jaunty would take Zune, I'd be happy as a clam. I was just seeing what I could do to fix the black screen and the error message. :)
