CD or DVD not mounting automatically after being put in the CD Tray

Hi All

I have started using Ubuntu for the last couple of months and really like it.

For some reason when I insert a CD or DVD into my drive tray, it does not load automatically.

Is there a preference or setup which can be changed so that, every time, I insert a disk, it will ask for me to chose the application to play the disk (in short recognize the disk)?

Please let me know, if you need any further information from my side
