Hi I am absolutely brand new to Ubuntu. I want to install a new programme i.e. bluefish. All i can see are refernces telling me to : apt-get install bluefish. Could someone tell me how i actually do this please? I have no idea how to 'run' a command on Ubuntu.
Thanks

From your task bar go to, Applications>Accessories>Terminal. Once Terminal is open, type this command into it
sudo apt-get install bluefish When prompted, enter your password.

Thank you very much. I presumed it was an alternative to the cmd line in windows, just couldn't find where it was. Such a quick response too. Thanks again.

maybe at beggining you can try synaptic package manager, go there and search , and right click then apply,
go to system->administration->synaptic
