Briefly what are the benefits of xfce over Gnome or KDE? I tried fluxbox. Didn't like it.

Briefly what are the benefits of xfce over Gnome or KDE? I tried fluxbox. Didn't like it.

xfce4 is suppose to be lighter and faster than gnome and kde, in xubuntu its as heavy as gnome.
fluxbox takes learning, but once you learn it, it is a great window manager. i wish we had the tab grouping of fluxbox in xfce4. for window managers my favorite is jwm, but i'm using debian testing xfce4 now. i have low specs so i want to keep it fairly light, it's 450mhz 256mb ram, 10 year old vaio laptop.
