The Problem' background & system info:
Solved by respondent number 2, Amilo 1718
I successfully installed a security program. However, ironic for a security program, this program (upon installation) installed a launcher in Applications>other.
System is Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop is Gnome
>
The actual problem:
I cannot delete any launcher. This has nothing to with the recently installed security program. I just do not know how to delete a launcher nor can documentation be found by me.
>
The unsuccessful research that I did in an attempt to find a solution
Googled Gnome, searched with results "delete launcher"
Searched 22 pages of launcher related pages at the "Gnome forum"
Attempted to join the Gnome forums.
They sent an email saying that I needed forum board approval before joining. Two weeks and two emails from me to them later, I've yet to receive a response from Gnome forums, much less a "welcome to our forums. You are registered & may now post."
Here at "Ubuntu Forums," I've searched through 10 pages of what I thought was relevant to the problem, no luc.
>
I of course have never been banned from any forum. In short, could someone please help?

Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to reply, especially so quickly!
I will call this solved

A few notes to add:

I assumed that one would have to be root, so I did the "su," password followed by the command "alacarte."
This failed to remove the launcher although it did remove it in "alacarte"

To succeed one should just type "alacarte" in the terminal, shell to some.

Again, thanks
