I need to reformat my netbook's hardrive, it had a dual boot of Ubuntu Remix and Linpus.
I used gparted to copy the Ubuntu partition to a USB key and checked it worked OK by manually editing GRUB at boot time to load the USB version.
I can't get it to boot correctly though by just selecting the boot device from the BIOS.
I did edit the menu.lst to allow for the change of device but this has not worked so I guess I've done something wrong.
Any advice appreciated as I have used various GRUB boot options in the past but do get confused as to boot sectors, boot partitions and device identity etc.
