I'm sort of building my own desktop at the moment. So far I have Jaunty Server 32Bit on EXT4 with Fluxbox as the WM. I just need to install a file manager thats pretty quick!

mc is my favorite, but the user was asking for a gui based file manager.

ROX-Filer or xfe.
PCManFM will be more familiar and integrated (gtk) though.
handy

Worker (http://www.boomerangsworld.de/cms/worker/index?lang=en) is fast, highly configurable, hugely powerful & only needs the X libraries.
I love it, it's a DOpus clone, old stable & still supported by its creator.

I'd probably say pcmanfm for the OP, but everyone should have mc installed, just in case.
