Hello all. I know this has probably been answered multiple times, so sorry for that....

Some how my iDeneb install disc keeps freezing on my desktop, after vista made such a huge mess of itself so I can not install. I have been using ubuntu for a very long time on my laptop and on a older pc. I am wanting to use ubuntu on my desktop again, but do not know if I should go 64bit.

I cant remember the version of ubuntu I last used with 64bit, but it was utter chaos. Is it supported better now? Will I be able to install 32bit apps on it like mac and windows?

Lastly, in 9.04, how is the support for nvidia cards? If you need more info, I have a nvidia 8800gt 512mb. Will it be supported for playing games on wine, like eve online?

Thankyou for all your help.

64-bit linux has much better support than it did two years abo.

Your 8800 should be supported as well.

as far as the 32-bit apps go, I don't think that's possible, but then I don't know for sure.

Ok thankyou for the reply. Installing the system now hope everything goes well :). Well I know you can run 32bit apps on 64bit os/s like windows and mac, just not 32bit drivers of course
