I have this installed within Windows XP Pro SP2 1 GB DDR RAM. When I boot into Ubuntu I have no sound. I'm doing something wrong but have no idea what. I need help.
I have an issue with not being able to get the sound driver from Creative to install in Ubuntu. The driver in question is this one.

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi and X-Fi Titanium Series Linux 32-bit / 64-bit Driver Source Release
Filesize : 68.8 KB Download
Current release features:

* ALSA PCM Playback
* ALSA Record
* ALSA Mixer

Is there anything available that I can study to learn my way around using Ubuntu? All I did was copy and paste into the terminal. I have no clue how it did what it did.

Chapter six of the Ubuntu Pocket Guide (http://www.ubuntupocketguide.com/index_main.html) talks about software management and compiling from source.

Could be a good place to have a read through.
