I am having a weird issue on Gnome desktop running 64-bit Jaunty. After some period of time, the desktop environment becomes mostly unresponsive. I am using all packages from standard Jaunty repos. This is a new Ubuntu machine, so not sure if problem would have occured in earlier builds.
What breaks:
Mouse clicks (about 95% are ignored)
Alt-tab
Typing into most dialog boxes
What does work:
Minimize all (mapped to CTRL-ALT-D)
Some typing in the active, focused window some of the time
I am using Nvidia 180 video driver. Have tried both Metacity and Compiz, including restarts of window manager while X is running. The only thing that fixes is a full restart of X using CTRL-ALT-backspace.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Keith
