I have been trying to get multiple desktop backgrounds through compiz in Ubuntu 9.04. When I go into gconf and disable nautilus showing the desktop, nautilus forks itself off seemingly infinitely. Windows called "starting File Manager" completely fill my window list. Does anyone know where this comes from and is there a fix?
