Sounds silly, but I still need a desktop for the server edition of 8.04.
What is a low-resource desktop I can install?.
How would I access it after installation?
Thanks

How low is low? You can try xubuntu:
sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktopAfter you install it, startx will bring up the desktop.

I would use openbox or flubox, even though there are lighter desktop environments, they just aren't that functional

i thought the desktop interface isn`t giving u full access to the server options and u have to use the terminal to execute the commands which send u back to square one!?
