Ok... so I inherited a gaming computer from a dead relative and I have been running Windows on it for quite some time, but I have decided it is time for Ubuntu Server. I installed 9.04 and everything went fine. It said it was going to reboot and it did. However it never gets to the log in screen, its gets hung up on something and I can't figure it out...

when it stops this is what is on the screen:

init: rc6 main process (2375) killed by SEGV signal

I'm really stuck here, I think it has something to do with my hardware or their drivers
Thanks

May be Your hardware is not capable of running Ubuntu.....

Check your ram size >512 Mb and swap area

IF it is OK then reinstall it with USB DRIVE .(Sometimes Faulty installation may occur due to CD )

IF problem still persist then Try for Xbuntu...
