im having trouble installing ubuntu

i downloaded the 32 bit version off the library internet to my usb drive because i dont have a way of burning it to a cd. i went home and plugged the usb drive into my computer running windows xp

i used 7-zip to extract the iso file. i ran wubi. the installation goes fine until it finishes installing and it says "creating virtual disks". then the bar stops moving. i exited out. later i started up my computer again and was surprised to see ubuntu was on the system selection. i tried it. a setup screen opened and it went fine until a thing popped up saying "you made the partition size too small" or something like that. if i hit go back, the message pops up again. if i hit continue the setup bar doesnt move and i had to restart my computer.

It was probably working, and you killed it mid-process. You can try uninstalling it and trying it again.
