Panel Shortcuts???

I recently installed Xubuntu as my first Linux based OS and am loving it. However, I'm having a little trouble customizing it to my liking. Xubuntu installs firefox automatically, which is fine, but i think i want to use opera. there is a handy firefox icon on the top panel that id like to replace with an opera icon, but i cant figure out how to do it

my apologies for asking a question that most likely has an answer thats right in front of my eyes

open the icon properties, then open application finder
drag and drop opera right below firefox, then use the "-" to remove firefox.
