View Full Version : [ubuntu] Grub error 22 after reinstalling ubuntu

Hi Everyone,

Well here is my problem, i am running Vista and then i Installed ubuntu 8.10 and everything was running great. I got a new HDD 500GB and installed Windows 7 and thats when everything when down the hill. follow the step on this instruction "https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows" to bring ubuntu back which did not work i got the ubuntu option when i click on it nothing. Decided to install ubuntu again and i left the swap partition untouched. and when it finish the pc restart and and get the message take out the cd before you hit enter and i did and laptop restart adn i get the message below.

GRUB Loading, Please wait...
ERROR 22
Is there a way to get rid of it or fix. I have try the CD and i get kernel panic. Can't use the live cd cause i don't get the option. I hae a copy of supergrub. and also ERD commander but have not used erd commander before. Any advice what to do please.

Okay i got my windows loader working with supergrub but i can't bring up ubuntu.I have reinstall it and still it will not come up. Help pleaseeee

It is strange that after reinstall you can not boot Ubuntu.Try this. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows) You can also read this. (http://members.iinet.net.au/~herman546/p15.html#22)
