My teacher told us to go to python.com to download python 2.6 Turns out python.com is a porn site with some pretty explicit videos on the front page. I can't wait to tell him what a goof he made.

Report him and say that he was telling everyone to look at porn to satiate his twisted sexual fantasies.

Actually don't do that.

I expect the hitrate on python.com has just gone through the roof as a legion of geeks go to "make sure" the OP isn't lying.

(he isn't)

I think the result would be another unemployment statistic, at best....

I checked every link on that site and couldn't find any reference to python.org.

And no pythons! What a let-down! :(

This reminds me of a time in middle school when our computer lab teacher told us to go to whitehouse.com (as opposed to whitehouse.gov) to learn about the president's house. Back then in the late 90s, whitehouse.com was a big porno site.

I also remember, 10 years ago, I wanted to go to yahoo.com, but I mis-typed and went to yahhoo.com which also is a porn site.

I was typing Disney.com for my son a while back, and got a porn site. I forget how I misspelled it, but I thought it was pretty messed up for a porn site to take advantage of a misspelling of the name Disney.

I hate those misspellings of domain names that lead to hardcore porn! I remember when I was 11 I went to look up something on craigslist... I misspelled and used ".com", and it led me to a porn site! Even worse, my mom was sitting right next to me! :(

I remember making the exact same mistake about four years ago. So that porn site is still up and running?

Yup, I had to learn that python.com was a porn site the hard way...I was quite surprised when I found out that it contained porn...that makes no sense, a site named python.com that has porn!

Every webmaster knows that all-access style sites convert, and Python.com offers the only all-access pass that features exclusive High Definition videos. ...

I was afraid to go on the site, but.... this gives you some ideas that it indeed is a pornographic site.

I was surprised the first time I went to python.com instead of python.org. :P
