After a few hours using the computer, I can't open any new GTK windows. I get the window border with a grey area where buttons and menus should be and a white area in the center where other GUI elements should be, but nothing else. If I try to close the window, it says the application is not responding.
I don't know what is the cause of the problem. At first I thought it could be compiz, so I have turned off all desktop effects, but I'm still experiencing the same problem.
Maybe it has something to do with the NVidia driver?
If anyone has experienced that before and has any information on the subject, please let me know.
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.
