Good music? Depends on your definition. Here's what I like. You probably won't, but enjoy the scenery.

If you like good Indie/alternative bands, then try:

Artist on left, Album in parentheses.

The Black Keys
Animal Collective ("Merriweather Post Pavilion" -- they are sort of an experimental Jam band. Very different, but good.)
Spoon (Gimme Fiction)
The Fleet Foxes
Vampire Weekend
Delta Spirit (Ode to Sunshine)
Mates of State (Re-arrange Us)
Ruby Suns

I have more, but my Amarok database is all screwed up. Anyone else ever have this problem, where Amarok will put the wrong album to the wrong artist and get the album covers all screwed up?

Try Pandora online radio. Enter the name of a band or song you like, and it will make a station of songs that are musically similar to the music you already like.

It's how I've found most of my music.

A Living Soundtrack (http://www.myspace.com/alivingsoundtrack). You can download songs, or stream Youtube videos for a sample. Not quite my taste, but the keyboardists are my daughter and son-in-law, so I need to promote them a little, so they can get rich and famous and support me in my old age.

I don't like these corporations and their record stores,
I don't want my paycheck feeding money whores
these "great people" flood the market with their fabricated human waste,
and laugh as this pathetic music gets them rich...

I love Pandora.

Just make a station, add some variety and play away. Very easy.

You weren't serious were you?

You asked for some new good songs, I gave you a link to my favorite band, I didn't know this was the "Can anyone suggest any new good songs so i can criticize and laugh at your poor taste in music" thread.

EDIT: I'm just grumpy, meh.

Feed The Horse? Mmm. Lmao.

yeah that song is one of the "my with random noteGenerator™ and sung over"... but man that girl is sexy :D

I also like this - Sigur Ros:

http://www.vimeo.com/2208194

.
I was actually going to suggest a song by Sigur rós but thought it would be too far away from the mainstream for him and it would seem like I'm just promoting my fellow icelanders -.-

So therefore I will do exactly that.

Sólstafir - Köld (live) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YQh2vyGhmA)

and some more if you can handle it:
Myrk - The spell (http://www.rokk.is/mp3/myrk/myrk_the_spell.mp3)
Gone Postal - Postnatal Abortion (live) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGXIuE9c8lM)
Severed Crotch - The Nature of infidelity (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P9ZOcEuC6w&feature=channel) (live)

I know some people dont like live recordings but people that really are into music reconstruct the song in their brain by the notes that where used so for them it wouldnt matter... hope you are one of those.
