I am looking for some assistance on a bash script I am trying to develop. I have a script that will scan a directory every few seconds, and return the filename of the latest file added to the folder (all images). However, I am having trouble smoothly displaying the image. I am able to open and close eye of gnome in order to do this, but it is very choppy since it has to open and close an application in order to display. Is there a way of displaying this more smoothly?
