Greetings. I'm a newbie here so please be patient. I have twice downloaded Ubuntu v9.04 with the intention of burning to a CD. When the download is compete my burning software (Roxio 6) loads up; I set a low speed and start the burn. After 2 minutes burning the disk contents it sticks and fails. How should I get round this, please?

I used the windows compatible program called InfraRecorder; try it, it's free. You're correct, burn at slow speed and burn as ISO Image.

I was having the same problem though I was using Alcohol 120% to do the burning. I might recommend the following link: https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ or https://shipit.kubuntu.org/ They will send you out a shiney brown colored CD with your choice of Ubuntu or Kubuntu (the KDE version) That may save you the headache of trying to burn a copy. If your system is a bit on the old side and lean on speed and ram I would recommend Xubuntu.
