I would google this but I really dont know where to start. I bought a 42" sanyo and am using my desktop on it now. The only problem is the Image appears to have a shadow. If anyone could point me in the right direction to fix this.

What's the native resolution of the tv?

What resolution are you sending?

Unless designed for pc use, most tv's make lousy monitors.

make sure the sync rate is set correctly

Most TV's will only sync at 60 Hz. Since they are TV's and not computer monitors, not many support higher scan rates.

Surely that depends whether they are PAL or NTSC? My PAL TVs tend to sync at 50Hz rather than 60Hz?

That's correct. I should have said 50 or 60 Hz versus any higher scan rate.

How are you connecting the two together (DVI,HDMI, VGA etc).
