I think I'm getting closer to the solution of my problem. I have recently purchased two SSD (http://www.xpcgear.com/ocz-oczssd2-1vtx30g-vertex-ssd.html) drives and there is some compatibility issue between my MB, the drives and Jaunty. However, I compiled the latest kernel and that solves my problem.

Now I need a LiveCD to have the sata drivers that are available in my new kernel. I tried remastersys, but it doesn't like custom kernels. I did find a lot of links to the sata drivers (http://ftp.zcu.cz/pub/linux/debian/pool/main/l/linux-kernel-di-amd64-2.6/) I think I need. The only way is to start with a fresh install and add the drivers one at a time until I find what works.

The udeb packages that can be downloaded from that site can only be installed to certain kernels. I can't find the generic versions, and I haven't a clue as to how to do it manually.
