Should I upgrade from the Update Manager app or should I use a cd?

What has worked better for folks?

you have to use the Alternate Install CD (Live CD won't work).

I prefer the CD over online. But then you still have to download the latest security updates, new kernel version, etc. so it's probably no faster or better in the end.

(TBH, I usually just do a fresh install over / because my /home is on a separate partition)
