Hi,

I keep getting this message every time I turn the computer on

The application 'Network Manager Applet' (/usr/bin/nm-applet)
wants access to the default-keyring but it is locked

I enter a password and off we go, can I get it to just start without having to keep entering a password?

Thanks

You need to delete the keyring. I can't remember how to delete it but I have seen it in a thread in these forums before.

After deletion it will probably ask you again, so you just give it a blank password and dismiss the "omg no password" warning.

EDIT: Found it here. (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=943443&postcount=7) Also the same tip is here. (http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2007/07/06/clearing-or-resetting-the-gnome-keyring/)

If security isn't a big issue for you, go to:
Accessories > Passwords and Encryptions: Passwords tab
Right click the Passwords folder > Change Password
Make it blank

Thanks to you both when you say 'If security isn't a big issue for you'
Does this just mean for people using my computer? or is there a threat from outside?
