I was running 8.10 on an Acer Aspire 1350 Laptop with VIA/S3G graphic controller. After upgrading to 9.04, the boot process stops after blinking 3 times in terminal mode. I had a similar problem with 8.04, which was resolved by adjusting the HorizSync and VertRefresh rates in xorg.conf. But this does not help now.

Can this be resolved or do I need to roll back?

cheers

Hi and I have very little experience with that graphics but have you tried using the xfix option when booting into recovery mode?
If Hardy 8.04 was working for you then yes that may be the best for you. :)
