View Full Version : [gnome] finally tried gnome 3

and I like it. Not sure that i like it more than current w/compiz but I do like it. For me (and that's the great part of linux, use what you like) kde4 vs gnome3 it's gnome 3 hands down. I've tried my best to like kde4 but just can't get into it. I await to see gnome3 when it's done but thus far, nicely done

whats different, is there 4 wallpaper desktop fix or what?

i dont like kde too much. it just dosn't feel right. also i cannot get it to connect to wifi or wired networks.

I have the same wifi problem on my laptop with kde so I`m on Xfce. But on my desktop computer I`m on KDE4 (just last couple of months) now although I used gnome for some years. But I know what you mean by It just doesn`t feel right. I had the same feeling with KDE3. What I like about KDE is that they`re not afraid to change things even if it might not be stable for some time. It`s exactly what I don`t like about gnome, it`s just so constant...it`s like they`re afraid to change something because right now gnome 2 just works. Haven`t tried gnome 3 but from what I read it looks like this will not change too much...
