Hello I have done the fresh installation of 9.04 Jaunty, the graphic performances are very slow especially when scrolling the example file of "Welcome_to_Ubuntu.odt". I have tried rolling back my graphic to ubuntu one.

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel-2.4

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

Instruction from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReinhardTartler/X/RevertingIntelDriverTo2.4

both have a little significance on my graphic performance.

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27a2] (rev 03)

Is there a better solution for this ? If not I think I'm going to downgrade to 8.01 or use XP at the meantime. :p

Thanks

Yeh I have a simular graphics card as you do and wow Jaunty is a slug...
Blame Jaunty's intel regressions for that one.

I have a system with the same GMA950 video card. With a fresh 9.04 install it was all hosed and super buggy. I found some really bad advice online on reverting the driver, etc.

In the end just running a reconfigure on xorg fixed it 100%.

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
