So I bought a new laptop, and it came with Windows Vista, after I got that all setup, I installed Ubuntu as a dual-boot, Ubuntu being my default. So after getting ubuntu installed and setup, i try to boot into Windows Vista, and it goes to a black screen for maybe.... a fourth of a second, and it says 'GRUB loader stage 2" and it immediately kicks me back to the OS selection screen, not letting me boot into Vista.

I have a SONY VAIO VGN-FW235J that came with Vista x64 Home and today is my first day using Ubuntu :o)

In making room for ubuntu, did you use vista's disk manager to shrink its partition, and defrag?

I shrunk it before, opened up 80gb for ubuntu, and 100 for Vista, something like that, I shrunk it before installing ubuntu, didn't defrag.
