I have a new install of Hardy, am trying to replace XP on my laptop. Everything looks good except I cannot print a thing. I am completely removed CUPS and re-installed, I have been through heaps of forums, all to no avail.
I can add my network printer, a Sharp MX-2700N, it all installs ok. I have tried HP Jetdirect, IPP, LPD and even SMB via a RedHat machine.
The CUPS logs report no errors and say the job has completed. I noticed the spool directories are still there for each job but don't know if this is normal. They disappear if I purge the queues.
All configuration settings are defaults (mind you I have tried everything I can think of) and with debugging enabled there are no errors I can see in the logs.
Any ideas, If I can't get this bit going I will have to go back to XP again and I really don't want to.
