Hey,
I installed A program called Record my Desktop from Synaptic. The only problem there is, is I can't open it up. where is the shortcut for it? How do I find it?

don't use this program, but what the heck. i downloaded it and guess what...same results...
its suppose to show up in "sound and video", but not there. its suppose to show up in "add/remove", not there either. ok...last resort...cli...nope, not there either....might add that i did a restart...

synaptic say's its here, but can't find it...maybe someone brainer than us will come along...

I installed it too, and could not find it.

A good desktop recorder is istanbul. It will be in sound and video after

you install it.

You probably need gtk-recordmydesktop to actually get a user interface.

It's in synaptic. search for recordmydesktop, and it will also come up.

Yes recordmydesktop is a command line tool. It won't show in the menus. There are two major GUIs for it and there are :
- gtk-recordmydesktop - witch is a GNOME based GUI
- qt-recordmydesktop - witch is a QT based (KDE) GUI.
When you install one of those two they will come up in the menus.

And just in case you're not sure, default Ubuntu uses GNOME, so you'll probably want gtk-recordmydesktop.

Argh my eyes! No need to shout so much man, I may be in another country but I can read you just fine with a normal sized font.
