So I want to do a new Ubuntu installation on ext4.
I have 2 HDD's: one fast (10.000) one slow(7.400).

I was thinking I'd just go with / on the fast HDD and /home on the slower HDD.
and a swap partition on the fast one (how big should I make this? I have 1GB RAM in that computer)

Is that a good idea?
Any benefit in making more than one partition on one of the HDD's?

any advice welcome.
thanks

My 2 cents. Put it all on the fast drive. Probably will work the way that you said but I think you are trying to rob Peter to pay Paul, and in the end, I think you may be causing yourself more problems than any benefit you "may questionably" gain !!!
