Hi all,
i am trying to get this effect in 9.04 using compiz http://five-g.deviantart.com/art/iTunes-Aero-for-Windows-Vista-96929293, but no luck. I can get glass window border or totally glass window, but i want to make all glass and transparent except actual window information - for example - in firefox all toollbars and statusbar i want make transparent and blurred, but area where html is shown should not be transparent.

Is it possiible and if yes how can i do that?

Right click a GNOME Panel, and then "Properties"

Background Tab:
Click Solid Colour. This allows you to get transparency on your panels.

I think I'm following what you're needing, try getting Compiz Emerald, that's what I did. It allows you the control your window designs a lot more.

Sorry, there really isn't much support for that yet.

There's a version of the Murrine GTK2 engine that allows transparency, but to get it to actually work each program has to support it as well. Hardly any program does, and most of the ones that can support it require you to apply a patch to their source code and compile the program yourself.
