Ok, So I want to install the latest developmental release for wine because a program that should be working isn't working in the 1.0 release.
This website gives me the files needed:

http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/archive/

However, how do I know which one to choose out of i386, amd64 and lpia??? I have no clue what this means.

I'd also like to know how to find out if you have 64 or 32 hardware or smlt because vmware (I considered installing) asks for that.

Type in terminal

uname -a

and post it here.

Do you know for sure that the program WILL work with the most current version of Wine? Did you check the CodeWeavers website application compatibility database to confirm that?

No point on upgrading Wine unless you know for sure that it will do what you want.
