Hi,

i have recently brought a netbook with suse linux on it and would like to install ubuntu over it. I have followed:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromImgFiles

but this did not help.

I followed:

Command Line Interface

and

sudo umount /dev/device/node

which resulted in a message about /dev/device/node not found?

Is there a guide which can help me?

From my understanding my netbook has 3 partitions so do i just need the one which has ubuntu? i.e. delete 2 partitions and reflash remaining one with ubuntu?

George

If your system has no data worth keeping I would insert the LiveCD and format your drive from scratch (or LiveUSB in your case).

):PBest choice is install from scrats and not Jaunty 9.04, because it have to many complication, so fresh installation Ubuntu 8.04 or 8.10. Good luck
